Virtues Project™ International facilitator - Jay Howden
Jay Howden is a writer, a speaker, and a coach "of many colours". Degrees in Psychology and Education founded a satisfying first career spent mainly in southern Ontario classrooms. He specialized in English Literature and Writing, and coached club and high school basketball for two energetic decades.
As a father, community builder and educator, Jay promotes "the well-being and tranquillity of the children of men". He has spoken in many settings on a wide range of topics: from history, media studies and social justice to parenting, creativity, personal transformation and the perfect jumpshot. Since moving to Ottawa in 2002, Jay's own writing has come first. He was Editorial Advisor to Governor General Adrienne Clarkson, helping prepare her speeches during the last two years of her mandate.
Since 2006, Jay has been writing from the home office in Overbrook, including his on-line columns at www.JamesHowden.com. He is a Certified Virtues Project Facilitator, and involved in several adventures in education. He loves to know how we learn, how communities change, and how in the world we got into this mess. He is happy when youth greets maturity, the spirit has its reasons, the planet feels like home, and men want the best for women. Jay is married, and father to four mighty sons.
